#art #history: if most of the people born into privilege were like nancy cunard (born #otd in 1896), maybe we wouldn't have such an itchy collective guillotine finger. this fashionable fash-basher & anti-racism campaigner (& heir to the cunard shipping line) was a writer who became a muse to man ray, james joyce & langston hughes.
when she wasn't busy being effortlessly avant-garde, nancy worked as a translator for the french resistance.
